Get up off of this!!!! |
Our Trials & Tribulation
To start out
Melissa and Tammie are the nucleus
Melissa had written some songs. Met Tammie.
Mentioned how she needed a drummer.Tammie said she could keep a beat
.
The two of them started practicing damn near day and night ,
7 days a week.
After many hours and months of practicing and surviving all the blisters
and loss of voice.
We then had to over come some real serious issues. But after several
thousand drums sticks being thrown and dodged.
Our bickering and laughing over timing and rythm changes had been resolved
. We finally had our songs down.
So we started searching for other players so we could get a band together.
Our first try at a band was with Shirley who played bass.
And we were called SUGAR BUSH.
But needless to say it didn't last. We never made it out of the garage.
We changed our name to Skin Deep.
Hell even had T shirts made up.
Then we found Kaz and Heather.
The two were great musicians. We just weren't on the same page.
Although we did have alot of fun.
Hooked up with Larry Caddle who used to play with 446.
Learned some songs and headed for the studio to start recording our
debut CD.
Chad jumped in to help us out of a tight spot .
Moving on........Ah it was New Years Eve and we were partying with our
friend Deb. She picked up the bass. Melissa showed her a few notes Deb
had a natural feel. So Melissa started working with her teaching her
bass.
Mean while we found out Skin Deep had already been taken.
So we changed it to UZZA.
Which meant (Powerful One).
And 4 months later we were playing out at jam nites and then our own
gigs.
Finally had a good ROCK BAND!!
We were booked every weekend people were really digging us.
We just began getting a following. Then the bottom drops out.
Frustrated and needing a break from ROCK N ROLL and all the disappointments.
Melissa and Tammie decided to go on a road trip across America.
First stop was Phoenix Az.,Las Vegas Nv.,Tijuana Mexico,
Santa Monica and finally ending up in Venice Beach California.
The two hung out around the area. Having alot of fun.
Meeting alot of interesting musicians and people.
Learning a whole new way of life. So many experiences that you just
can't imagine.
With all the chemistry in the air.
Talk of starting a new band began to surface. And the first step we
felt was was a new name. Uzza was a cool name but people had trouble
pronouncing it. Melissa had wrote a new song about some homeless friends
she had met.
Which forced some inner demons of her own out.
You could say it was a combinations of things,
the new song , living in Venice, the homeless people.
Well anyway the end result was Hagatha's Bluff
And so we felt it was time to head back to the Buckeye.
And try to get another band together.
And so........here we are.....
I guess you can say the rest is history |
